Summer 2018 Bucket List

Yesterday was the first official day of summer and I’m excited to get outside and enjoy the amazing weather! I’m someone who’s often at risk for making big plans for myself and then saying “not yet” forever, so I thought I’d create a summer bucket list for 2018 to kick my butt in gear and take full advantage of the warm months. Have a look and see if you can incorporate these ideas into your summer!

Visit a theme park/fair. Even if you don’t live close to a theme park, there are always local fairs popping up when the weather gets warm. It’s so exciting to spend a warm summer evening pigging out on funnel cake and cotton candy, and going on fun rides. I’m lucky enough to live in driving distance from Canada’s Wonderland so it’s always on the top of my list of things to do in the summer, but it doesn’t always happen. This year, I’m making it a priority to visit at least once and to try a ride I’ve been too scared to get on in the past.

Host an outdoor movie night. There is something so special about watching a movie under the stars! As I said in my Staycation Ideas blog post, if you can get your hands on a projector, hang up a white sheet and throw on your favourite movie, this is an easy and incredibly fun way to spend a warm summer night. I’ve been Pinteresting photos of outdoor movie nights like crazy for the last few months and it is definitely on my bucket list to host one in the coming weeks!

Explore a flower farm. I didn’t know that flower fields were like a destination in the summer months! I recently discovered that there is a lavender farm local to me called Terre Bleu that has special photo-opp spots, a restaurant on-site and a little country store. Since hearing about it, I’ve been dying to plan a trip! It would be such a fun afternoon outing with a significant other or some girl friends.

Go to an outdoor concert. This just screams summer! Who doesn’t love music and who doesn’t love being outside when the weather is gorgeous?! There are always big summer music festivals, but there are also almost always small, local shows at patio restaurants and the like! I’m hoping to attend at least one outdoor concert this summer.

Have a cottage weekend – with s’mores! I’m obsessed with s’mores. Whenever someone invites me to a bonfire, my first question is “will there be s’mores?!” A friend of mine has a cottage girls’ weekend almost every summer and we always end a day in the sun with a bonfire. We’ll cook hotdogs and s’mores and chat about life. I’m hoping I get the chance to have a cottage weekend like this again this year!

Go to a baseball game. Every summer I say I’m going to go to a Blue Jays game and every summer it doesn’t happen. This year will finally be my year! I’ve heard amazing things about the atmosphere of a baseball game, and I’m excited to experience it first hand. If your city has a baseball team, consider going to one of their home games for a fun evening outing!

Well there ya have it! My bucket list for Summer 2018. Do you have one for this summer? Share some of your ‘must do’s in the comments!
